Spoke to a local guy looking for directions he said Downtroadnexttthospital ?
i just had my boiler replaced - after fitted and tested the gas supply was weak which is coming into the property. Its been capped - one hours time they will have front garden dug out and replacing new line. exciting stuff - neighbours will love us in the morning.
In my memory it was raining 😂
This is my family name. My father was Graham Hollinshead. His father Arthur lived in Staffordshire as a young boy and man, and family were in Staffordshire for hundreds of years. My grandfather then moved to Stoke on Trent for work at the coal mines. My father and grandfather emigrated to Australia with family in 1950s.
People ask me if I have lived in Chorley all my life.. I said not yet .
some of the prices have tribbled since then.
I was born in Chorley in 1947 and my first ten year or so were spent in a house number 19 half way up the brow on the right hand side near the lamp. And found you video informative the big house on the corner of Hollinhead st. and Feller st. it was owned by a family of scrap merchants named Daniels it was three stores in height plus a Celler were there was a stable, plus a door under the steps were a carriage could be put. How ever I have to say the discriminations of the swan is incorrect. There were two houses there the larger was occupied by elderly old sisters, and the third by a family into the sixties. It was much later a booky(turf accountant) named Howell who also owned the George public house. Converted the houses into what you see now. The swan was a coaching house on water st. which was a road from Bengal street along the bottoms up Church brow rejoining park Rd. if you ever need to know any thing about that area I have some vied memory of my youth there.
Was the fountain in Astley Park not in the park on the 21st of April 2012🤔 0:04
15 minutes of my life I'll never get back, fucking prick
Then don't watch it.
It's amazing just how good the roads are compared to now.
What a shithole
Don't come up to this channel if you don't like him.
this was when chorley was peaking in 2012-2015
big issue PLEASE......
I do this every day for 12 years
Can't believe how much has changed in such a short time
24.31 minuets into video you come up to the Talbot next rd on the left was Highways av where we first lived after getting married back in 1980 the pub had a different name then loved this trip back thank you for sharing
Does anybody have a photo of the old crane , that used to sit at the front..
I get my food from there.
Where's the Chip stone Trucks that lay the Chip stone on top of the ashpelt
They should of closed off the carparks
D'un pays à un autre, il est intéressant de voir les techniques utilisées ainsi que les matériaux. PE jaune pour vous, nous PE noir + liseré jaune. Juste dommage de voir les déchets restés en fond de fouille !
And this is why people get in the shit not because of the workers it's because of you lot of grassing fuckers
That’s right let’s sweep all the shit up against someone’s wall haha.
i grew up in chorley full of unhappy memories its one of the most misrable depressing towns in the country
Not you too
lovely
Can I just say right this bloke is working in knee high mud with some wanker recording him all day
Brand new roller isn't it
Not anymore
*Honk*
Far out, what a dump.I’m glad my grandfather jumped on a ship and came to Australia.
It isn't that bad here.
Putting road base below and around the gas pipe is a huge Bozo No No, they will be back.
Wasn't for gas men there would not be any gas leaks.
Where’s the tracing wire to locate the main at ?
my home
It's funny because I know every place you went haha
The best thing I have seen about Chorley anywhere. Cannot thank you enough. It as helped me work out a old map 1776 of the water street area..
River Chor flows on and on, a reassuring reminder of Mother Nature’s sustaining presence. The Chor persists through time underlying changes through agriculture, industrial mills and now residential estates. I only realise now that I have for some time been walking its enchanting babbling banks through Astley Park woodland. It survives the virus and human efforts. It feeds the soul sorely needed in these challenging times. Janet Boddington
Chorleyyyy
Thanks for uploading this. 👍
I really enjoyed listening to this lovely Coppull lady reminiscing, God bless her. Thanks
That sure europe somewhere i think. Man i am watching why its too messy, dirt everywhere during a fusion process. Plus hands dirty but biggest a hand saw seriously not even a facer. Wow
Its the uk
Outstraight mate you try doing that kind of working then weather conditions there is only so much you can do them lads there’s are doing their best
Just to much to comment on, 6yrs old and Balfour Beatty . . Lowest standard you are prepared to except is the highest you are ever going to achieve. I think it is really sad that the guy that filmed this actually thinks they did a good job and thanks them. Six years on and this is the first time I have seen it. . Disgrace . . Men have been dismissed for what has been filmed in this video.
The new gas main is not deep enough, the requirement is 750 mm from the crown of the pipe to the road surface, Gas Safety (installation and use) Regulations 1998
Hi, dead insert, its now classed as a ducted main, depth does not apply . . If the construction engineer had been any good he would have had it dropped, but we are talking Balfour Beatty. . Glad I retired before they brought the quality of work in the WMLDZ down to their level . . You keeping all right Bob
@@petercross8871 Yes thanks, I am staring retirement in the face, and now only manage works from the primary meter. Be safe
@@petercross8871cheers Pete that geezer is racked thanks for saving the day

@@katieriley9658 Sorry Katie Riley , I am only pulling you're leg , I was born on Hope st (off Park Rd ) 68 years ago . I have lived all over the country & even in Europe , but, I still keep coming back . I now live in Eccleston. Hope I haven't offended you .X
@@fortniteinreallifeepic4497 hahahha no you haven’t offended me at all! i’m just very passionate about chorley hahahah! and i’m glad you keep coming back
A pity you didnt come down Bolton Rd and Market Street, past the Town Hall and Park Gates
No wonder these patches sink see how fast he put that wacker around the hole
That's why they put too much asphalt in. That way you guarantee either a hump or a hollow, but never a flat finish. When they resurface and plane the road, the plane will follow the contour so even then the defect will remain. Once it's dug up it's never right again.
should be wackered in layers too, not just before tarmac.
Who played the music on this video ,I love it and want to buy it
Oi git I live here
